Here When You Need Us Most
We work hard to ensure that all children who visit us receive immediate, compassionate care. Each day, we set aside time in our schedule specifically for urgent and same-day sick visits, so your child can be seen by one of our providers as soon as possible.
If you’re uncertain whether to bring your child in or head to the ER, please know we’re here to help with many illnesses and injuries. However, if your child is experiencing a life-threatening issue, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room. For everything else, our Pelican Pediatrics team is ready to support you.
Reasons to Visit for a Sick Child:
- Fever over 100.4°F for infants under 2 months or 104°F in older children (or fevers lasting longer than two days)
- Abdominal pain
- Ear infection
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Painful or severe rash
- Broken bones
- Significant fall or accident
- Difficulty swallowing
- Persistent or severe headaches
Some serious conditions like dehydration or concussions are best handled at an ER, but most routine illnesses and minor injuries can be treated here at Pelican Pediatrics.
